BRUNSWICK - Helen H. Kneer, 88, of Brunswick, NY, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 4, 2018. She was retired from Kneer’s Auto Parts. Helen was born near the Troy-Menands Bridge on a family farm, later moving to South Troy. She is the daughter of the late Paul and Eva (Holoduek) Hetman. She is predeceased by six bothers, Walter, Matthew, Michael, Stephen and John Hetman all of Troy, and one sister, Stella Stasack of Troy. She is the most fabulous, loving mother of Everett F. (MaryLee) Kneer, Jr, Gordon B. (Robin) Kneer, and Wendy H. Kneer all of Troy, and Randy J. Kneer of Grafton. She was the grandmother of six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. In her younger years, Helen worked at the Crooked Lake Hotel, Hart’s Laundry, Marvin Neitzel, then later at Kneer’s Auto Parts (where she is most remembered). She was a woman of faith with the love for JESUS CHRIST that she was not shy of. She loved attending the Grafton Baptist Church followed by a trip to the Falls Diner with her friends. She had also been a volunteer at the Alpha Pregnancy Care Center, where she enjoyed child care. She also enjoyed watching television, shopping and going out to eat. She was a fabulous cook, the queen of special occasion feasts. Helen will be missed by all for her generous spirit, her strong faith and as a woman that could be depended upon. The family would also like to thank the Samaritan Hospital nurses, doctors and staff in the ER and on the 4th and 6th floor for the kind and compassionate care they gave.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday morning, April 7, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at the Grafton Baptist Church, 11 Owen Road, Grafton, NY 12082, with a time of fellowship and refreshments, following the service.
