Obituary of Elizabeth Freund

Halfmoon - Elizabeth "Betty" Barto Freund, 78, passed away peacefully on Friday November 24, 2017 with her loving family by her side. Born in Brainard, NY she is the daughter of the late Kenneth and LaVancha Snow.

Betty was employed by the Shenendehowa School District as a bus driver for more than 25 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the Halfmoon Fire Dept. Ladies Auxillary and the Halfmoon Senior Center.

Betty is survived by her children, Paula (Michael) Ruff, Robert Edson, Debra (Eric) Hedin and Carol (Dominick) Caruso; her grandchildren, Joseph Ruff, Kristen (David) Connors and Amber (Andrew) Barber; her great-grandchildren, Hadynne, Alexander, Tyler and Austin. She is also survived by her siblings, Mary, Arti, Lavancha, William, Jane, Clarence, Coral and Don. Betty was predeceased by her husband, MSgt. Gerald K. Freund in 1998 and her brother, David in 2010.

Calling Hours for Betty will be held on Thursday November 30th from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Route 9 Clifton Park. Funeral services will be held on Friday December 1st at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
