Obituary of Jack N. Herz

Jack N. Herz, 82, of Clifton Park, formerly a resident of Coburg Village in Rexford, NY and The Home of the Good Shepherd in Saratoga Springs, NY, died on Saturday morning, January 6, 2018, at Schuyler Ridge Residential Healthcare.

Born, raised and proud of being from Bensonhurst in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Sidney and Fay Rosenbloom Herz and the beloved husband of Sandra L. Greenberg Herz, who died on August 15, 2011.

He then honorably served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956.

Jack was a Hairstylist at Mr. Fred's in Brooklyn.

Jack and Sandy loved to travel and were particularly fond of taking cruises to the Caribbean

Jack loved to watch the NY Knicks on TV and was an avid fan of the Brooklyn Dodgers, who he never forgave for leaving Brooklyn. As a teenager, Jack played second base for the Tomahawks at the Parade Grounds, alongside his friend Sandy Koufax.

Jack is the cherished brother of Sylvia Herz Goldfischer, the late Bernie Herz and the late Rosalie Herz, loving uncle of Marc, Randy and Flori, and proud great uncle of Madison  Taylor, Charlie, Amanda, Kerry and Jessica.

Jack, together with his beloved wife Sandra, will be laid to rest privately at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.

There are no public services.
