Obituary of Mark Edward Sullivan

Troy - Mark E. Sullivan, 67, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday March 21, 2018. Born in Troy, he is the son of the late Edward and Gloria Sullivan.

Mark was employed by New York State and worked for a number of government agencies during his 35 year career until his retirement. Mark earned his undergraduate degree in History at SUNY Cortland and his Master’s Degree in Public Administration at SUNY Albany. He loved to spend time outdoors swimming, hiking, skiing, and sailing on Lake George. Mark was a member of the Adirondack Mountain Club and the Lake George Club. He was a sports enthusiast. He enjoyed cooking and good food.  He especially loved to spend time in Maine.

Mark is survived by his wife, Joan Bernat Sullivan; his children, Lauren (Ben) Barrowman, Luke (Julie Leddy) Sullivan and Alyssa (Carl Fusco-Gessick) Sullivan; his grandchildren, Connor Barrowman, Jane Barrowman and Harrison Sullivan; his siblings, Matt (JoAnn) Sullivan, Jay (Nancy) Sullivan and Chris (Maureen) Sullivan; and his beloved aunt, Martha Strait. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Funeral services for Mark will be held at Transfiguration Parish in Speigletown, 50 Hillview Dr. Troy, NY 12182, on Tuesday May 29th. Calling hours will be at the church from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery.
