Obituary of Frank Cardone
After a brave and strong battle with cancer, Frank entered into God’s arms peacefully with his family by his side. Frank was born Oct 4, 1931 in New Rochelle, NY. The son of Frank & Helen Cardone, brother of Peter ( Ida) Cardone. He was a union electrician and was a proud member of the IBEW. Frank was a veteran of the Korean war and was stationed in Germany for 2 years. He cherished his time as a CYO Little League coach. He enjoyed traveling to Italy, Mexico, Aruba and many Caribbean islands with his wife. He picked up and enjoyed golf in his later years. He was a self-taught artist that loved to sketch funny comics and remarkable drawings of family and friends. A great story teller, he always had a new joke or magic trick up his sleeve.
Frank is survived by his wife of 60 years, Yolanda Cardone, whom he loved dearly, his son, Paul (Eileen) Cardone of Clifton Park, NY and his daughter, Teri (Tom) Cranston of Ballston Lake NY. Frank loved his son and daughter in law like they were his own. He will be greatly missed by his 5 grandchildren, Ross Cranston of Charlotte, NC, Brad Cranston of Clifton Park NY, Jay Cranston of Buffalo, NY, Nicholas and Charlotte Cardone of Clifton Park NY.
Frank happily attended many sporting events cheering them on with a smile. His positive, loving and caring way will live on in his grandchildren. Frank and his wife moved to Lake George NY with their children in 1972, due to their love affair with the Adirondacks. There they ran a very successful motel business before retiring in 1980. They lived many happy years in their home nestled in the Adirondacks. Frank also loved the ocean and they spent many winters traveling to and enjoying the sunshine in New Smyrna Beach Fl. Frank also managed the Lake George OTB for many years due to his love of the horses and meeting people. Frank most recently moved to the Clifton Park area to be closer to his kids and grandchildren. He was a communicant of Corpus Christi Church. Frank was seen often at the local YMCA, always staying active.
