Obituary of Desikachar Narayan

Desikachar Narayan, 101, of Camp Rd. died on Monday Feb. 27, 2017 at Albany Medical Center Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Nuggehalli, India on Jan. 14, 1916 and was the son of the late Narayan and Ranganayaki Iyengar. He was educated in India, graduating from Mysore High School and Baroda Institute of Engineering. He was an electrical and mechanical engineer for the Government of India, serving with the military. He was the husband of Vedavalli Nuggehalli who he married on May 17, 1948. He is the father of Shubha Mudambi of Webster, MA, Rekha Nayak of Rexford, NY and Rupa Narayan of Huntington, LI; grandfather of Aradhana and Anjana Mudambi; great grandfather of Jeena Ann Kidambi and Savi Sumitra Desai; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held Wednesday March 1, 2017 at 10:00 am at the Gardner Earl Chapel of Oakwood Cemetery, 186 Oakwood Avenue Troy, NY 12182
