Obituary of Anthony T. "Tony" "Coach" Parker

Anthony T. "Tony" "Coach" Parker, 64 of Albany entered into eternal life on Tuesday, March 28, 2017. Born and raised in Troy, he was the son of the late Warren R. and Carrie E. Purnell Parker, was a graduate of Troy High School and attended SUNY Delhi. Known affectionately as "Tony" and "Coach", he was very involved in his children's lives particularly with the Troy City Pacers AAU Basketball program and both Armory Little League and Central Little League. He was also a volunteer at the Capital City Rescue Mission in Albany. Tony had been employed at CDPC in Albany and was formerly employed at General Electric in Schenectady. He was an avid lover of horse racing, the NY Knicks and the NY Giants. He is the devoted father of Toni Maria Parker of Schenectady, Terrence Anthony Parker (Daisy) of Peabody, MA and Sean Michael Parker (Karen Perez) of Bronx, NY and their loving mother, Tammy D. Wallace Parker of Troy, brother of Robert Preston of Warners, NY and Raymond Parker of Troy, cherished grandfather of Terrell, Skylar and Maya, also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to his Memorial Service on Sunday , April 2, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at the Fifth Avenue A.M.E. Zion Church, 189 Fifth Avenue, Troy, NY 12180. There are no calling hours. Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family in the Oakwood Cemetery in Troy. Memorial contributions may be made to the Capital City Rescue Mission, 259 S. Pearl St., Albany, NY 12202 or to St. Charles Lwanga Center, 115 Grand St., Albany, NY 12202, in memory of Anthony T. "Tony" Parker. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue, Troy, NY 12182.
