Obituary of John J. LaCasse, Sr.

John J. LaCasse, Sr., 85, of Lapp Road in Clifton Park died on Monday April 3, 2017 at Albany Medical Center Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 29, 1931 in Troy, NY and was the son of the late Odilon J. and Irene M. Marois LaCasse. He was a graduate of Catholic Central High School and Hudson Valley Community College, both in Troy. He was a Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict. John was a Civil Engineer having worked for the NYS Dept. of Transportation in Albany for over 32 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed shopping and also enjoyed tinkering in the yard with stone and concrete. John was the beloved husband of the late Beverly Bristol LaCasse, who died on Nov. 4, 2000; devoted father of John J. LaCasse, Jr., Dane E. LaCasse, Chad Z. LaCasse and the late Beau T. LaCasse ; brother of Robert LaCasse, Jeannie (John) Crawford, Helen Provencher, Doris Chouiniere, Joyce Cuddy, Laurett (Bill) Walther and the late Russell LaCasse and Theresa Girard; cherished grandfather of Megan, Melissa and Thomas; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held on Friday morning at 10:00 am in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 Clifton Park, NY 12065. Calling hours will be from 4-7 pm Thursday in the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Waterford, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758516 Topeka, KS 66675.
