Obituary of Roberta King Giroux

Roberta King Giroux, 70, of Grant Hill Road died on Wednesday April 5, 2017 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born in Albany, NY on July 19, 1946 and was the daughter of the late Glenn W. and Isabel Fike King. She was a graduate of Watervliet High School, Class of 1964. Roberta retired as a secretary from Maplewood Manor in Ballston Spa where she had worked for over 20 years. She loved to travel, having visited 33 countries within the last 5 years. She loved being with family and especially the time she spent with her grandchildren. Roberta had attended Shenendehowa United Methodist Church in Clifton Park. In retirement, she enjoyed swimming with her daughter and grandchildren. She is the beloved mother of Danielle (Harry) Sherman of FL and Kristine (Frank) Sherman of Clifton Park; sister of Richard (Sharon DelZotto) King of Rotterdam and Philip (Bonnie) King of St. Augustine, FL; cherished grandmother of Olivia Sherman, Sofia Gonzalez, Luciana Sherman and Victoria Gonzalez; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held Friday at 12 Noon from the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 Clifton Park, NY 12065. Calling hours will be from 10 – 12 noon prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie, NY
