Frances Gail Rockwell
Brunswick, NY - Frances Gail Rockwell, 76, a lifelong area resident, left this world peacefully at her home on Thursday, July 25, 2024. Gail was a caring mother, Nana, Great-Nana, sister, aunt, and friend. She was born to Francis and Florence (Roberge) Winters of Raymertown on November 15, 1947. Gail graduated from Tamarac High School and first married her high school sweetheart Edwin C. Roberts where they ran the family dairy farm in Brunswick. During this time, she was a member of the Pittstown Volunteer Ambulance Corps and Raymertown Fire Company’s Women’s Auxiliary.
She later married Craig R. Rockwell where they lived in Babcock Lake. She spent her second career as an accountant & human resource officer at Hartgen Archeological Associates of East Greenbush where she was able to enjoy her passion for history. Gail finished her career at Stewart’s Shops as a Food & Safety inspector before retiring in 2013.
She loved spending time with her family and friends. Gail cherished going to North Carolina to visit her daughter and son-in-law, enjoying a glass of fine wine and her love of Saki. While home, she enjoyed going to the Saratoga Racino with her cousin Beverly Burnham, spending time with her grandkids and with her best friend Mary Cummins. Gail loved crocheting for family and friends. She was a member of multiple local senior groups as well as a communicant of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Troy, NY.
Gail is survived by four children: Edwin Roberts Jr (Victoria Moore), Pauline Hansen (Craig Hansen), William Roberts and Laura Price (Mike Price); three grandchildren Wade Hansen (Kellsey Hansen), Hailey Hansen and Novaleigh Roberts; one great-grandchild Virginia Hansen; five siblings Francis Winters, Denise Gardner, Dawn Winters, Michelle Konno, Patricia Lynn Hough and aunt to multiple nieces and nephews. Edwin C. Roberts, Craig R. Rockwell, and Michelle Konno pre-deceased Gail.
A memorial Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady Victory Catholic Church in Troy, NY on Tuesday, August 27th, 2024 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a graveside service at Saratoga National Cemetery where she will be interred with her late husband Craig R. Rockwell.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please send a memorial contributions to the Raymertown Fire Department, Pittstown Emergency Corp or Our Lady of Victory Church, Troy.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Morris - Stebbins - Miner & Sanvidge Funeral Home, 312 Hoosick Street, Troy.
