

Obituary of Oswald M. Biittig, Jr.
Oswald M. Biittig, Jr., 80, well known as “Ozzie”, “Tyger” and “The Whiz”, peacefully entered into eternal life surrounded by his loving family at home on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
Born in Troy, NY, he was the son of the late Oswald M. and Sarah Millicent Greene Biittig, Sr. and was a graduate of Averill Park High School and Hudson Valley Community College.
In this youth, he worked for Eastern Tablet Paper Mill, drove for Black and White Taxi in Troy, NY, the Red Front Restaurant in Troy and most importantly he was the proud owner and operator of Tyger’s Newsroom on River St. and Eastway Variety Store, both in Troy.
Ozzie was a fun loving guy full of life, and loved going to the Casino, hiking, music, EATING, fishing and most of all spending time with his family that took him everywhere. He was always ready for a good time.
Devoted father of Dedra (Diedrich) Wright and Pernell (April) Allen Biittig, brother of Gladys (late, Al) Corbeil, Dorothy Lillis and the late Millicent (late, Donald) Oliver and the late Shirley (late, Jim) Schultz, also survived by 14 cherished grandchildren, 5 adored great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Celebration of Life gathering on Sunday, February 2, 2025 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (at the corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh), Troy, NY 12182.
