

Obituary of Manuel Maria Abreu Pichardo
Manuel Maria Abreu Pichardo, 74, of Halfmoon, formerly of the Dominican Republic, peacefully entered into eternal life on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at the The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Barnwell in Valatie, NY.
Born and educated in Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic, he was the son of the late Eusebio Abreu and the late Nereyda Pichardo. He came to the U.S. in 1982 and resided in Brooklyn, NY, and in New Jersey.
Mr. Pichardo had been employed at Caputo’s Pizzeria in Halfmoon and had also previously worked at Wheatfields and Grecian Gardens.
Manuel loved horses, music, riding his bicycle everywhere and watching TV and movies. He was a hard working man with a strong work ethic and wanted to be sure to instill the same characteristics within his three children. He was a man of his word and never went back on it. He was also a man of strong Catholic faith and worshipped with the Spanish Apostolate at St. Edward The Confessor Church in Clifton Park.
Devoted father of Mariela Abreu, Emmanuel Abreu and Richard Abreu who are survived by their mother Maria D. Peralta Abreu, brother of Paula Abreu, Josefina Abreu, Soledad Abreu, the late Antonio Abreu and the late Leopoldo Abreu, cherished grandfather “Abuelo” to Camila Nunez, also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service at 12:45 p.m. both at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 RT-9, Clifton Park, NY 12065
Interment will be held in Oakwood Cemetery in Troy.
Manuel’s family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to The Grand at Barnwell, St. Peters, and NYOH staff for their treatment services, and family members and friends for their support during this time.
