
Obituary of Anna Zrini
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anna Bjelka Zrini, 97, of Clifton Park, On April 3, 2025 surrounded by her daughters, Carol Christensen and LaVerne Grimshaw.
Wife of the late Samuel Zrini, Devoted mother of Carol Ann Christensen and LaVerne (the late, Chuck) Grimshaw, mother-in-law of William T. Christensen, Jr., Cherished grandmother to William Taft Christensen, III and Jessica Ann Briand (Joshua Taylor Briand) adored great grandmother of Taylor Paige Briand and Samuel Gilmore Briand, sister of Lillian Cornell.
Born in Manhattan, New York, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Anna Brkal Bjelka and was a graduate of Washington Irving High School in Manhattan. She retired from Samuel’s Electrical Co. in Manhattan, where she had been a bookkeeper. She was proud to have been amongst one of the first woman admitted to the Union as a member of Electricians Local #3. Prior to her marriage on November 30, 1946, she had been a secretary for a division of the US Army.
She traveled around the world with her husband, had been a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Clifton Park and of Trinity Slovak Lutheran Church in Manhattan. She also resided at their home on Sagamore Lake in Kent Cliffs, NY (Putnam County), retiring to New Mexico and moving to Clifton Park in 2003.
Private funeral arrangements were entrusted by the family to the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 RT-9, Clifton Park, NY 12065.
Anna’s family would like to express their most sincere appreciation to Community Hospice and to all of the wonderful nurses, aides and caretakers for their tremendous care provided to her and her family.
