Louis J. Printsky, 98, peacefully entered into eternal life on Monday, April 21, 2025.

 

Son of the late Jacob and Bronislawa (nee Bielawa) Printsky, Lou was a life-long resident of Troy.  He worked for several local employers, including Bow-Knit Mills in Cohoes, Ludlow Valve Co. in Troy, the Brittonkill Central School District in Brunswick, finally retiring from the City of Troy’s Water Filtration Plant where he worked as a Plant Operator for over 13 years. 

 

Lou enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, and cooking, but was passionate about golf.  He loved to golf with his brothers, nephews, and friends, often traveling to Myrtle Beach South Carolina.

 

Lou volunteered his services as maintenance man for Mt. Ida Community Baptist Church in Troy where his wife was a life-long member.  In his younger days he enjoyed helping his friend Willard Ives plant, sheer, and sell Christmas trees at Ives’ Christmas Tree Farm in Brunswick.

 

Predeceased by his loving wife of 35 years, Jane.  He was stepfather to Diane (Hal) DeVoid and the late David (Anne) Gibson.  Lou’s six step-grandchildren, Heather, Drew, Todd, Charles, Douglas, and Michael, including his ten step great-grandchildren loving referred to him as Dziadzi.  Lou was also predeceased by his brothers and sisters - Willie, Tony, Julia, Frank, Joey, Marjorie, and Lillian.  Surviving family includes many nieces and nephews from the Printsky and Knothe families.

 

Lou’s family will always be grateful for the kind, friendly, and passionate care that he received from the wonderful staff at the Daughter’s of Sarah.

 

Keeping with Lou's wishes, there will be no public calling hours.

 

Arrangements for a private burial in Troy’s Oakwood Cemetery have been entrusted by the family to the Morris-Stebbins-Miner & Sanvidge Funeral Home, 312 Hoosick Street, Troy, NY 12180. Phone (518) 272-3930.
