Obituary of Anne Rentz

Anne Rentz passed away peacefully on Friday, June 27, 2025 with her loving family at her side.

 

She was the daughter of the late Paul F. Sweeney and Helen M. Sweeney and the beloved wife of William J. “Bill” Rentz, Jr. who passed away in 2019. Anne graduated from Catholic Central High School and Weaver Airline School in Missouri. While in high School, she worked at St. Augustine’s Church Rectory in Lansingburgh.

 

She worked for the New York State Department of Labor, Bureau of Research and Statistics.

 

Anne volunteered at Holy Spirit School in East Greenbush for many years. She was an avid knitter and sewer. Anne was also a care giver to many members of her family, neighbors and everyone else in her life. She and her husband took care of the grandchildren while they were growing up and were always there at their baseball games, basketball games and taking them to many activities and outings. Always there for them when they needed. She was very proud of Matthew and Laura and loved doing things with them.

 

She will be remembered for her kindness and love to her family and helping others.

 

Anne is survived by her son Stephen who she loved dearly and his lovely wife, Libby, her grandson Matthew and granddaughter Laura. She thought the world of them  She is also survived by her sister-in-law Ida Mae Sweeney and was also predeceased by her brothers John and Robert Sweeney.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Anne’s family on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (corner of 115th St. in Lansingburgh), Troy, NY 12182 and to attend her Mass on Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Henry’s Church, 39 Old Rte 66, Averill Park, N.Y. 12018 which will be followed by burial at St. John’s Cemetery, Schaghticoke.

 

The family offers their special thanks to the Doctors, Nurses and Techs at Samaritan Hospital Fifth Floor Pavilion for their exceptional care, love and compassion.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
