I called her Mom. She smiled when I did. She really was “my other Mother” from the time Charyl and I met, August 16, 1970, the day my family moved in across the street and Char walked over to meet me sitting on the porch. We went across the street to meet her parents and it was done, my “other family “ was formed.
I was always amazed and impressed with her loveliness every single day! I can’t remember a day, even after staying overnight for a sleepover, that she didn’t come down the stairs with her hair, makeup, and nails in perfect condition! Always ready with a laugh over something silly that all us girls did, or our children. Her daughters and grandsons were her pride and joy, there was no denying it! She was a friend, and mother, to all of us girls who called her daughter Charyl our BFF! We were always welcome, and sometimes she’d sit at the table, inside or out, us friends with Charyl and Gayle, and have a thousand laughs telling us stories of her life.
I’ll miss her all of my life. When I think of her I’ll always see her coiffed and smiling with her Friday night highball and Virginia Slims! What a time we had.
By now she is standing happily in heaven with her arms around her loving husband, Charlie, and her beautiful grandson, Scott. Until we meet again, Mom, I love you and will forever miss the charm you showed to me and everyone you met.

Anytime you were lucky enough to be in the presence of Grace it was a happy time! I will never forget her kindness , and caring! She "lit up a room" How she loved to sing and dance!!!
