Obituary of Herbert L. Marlow
Herbert L. “Herb” Marlow, 78, of Clifton Park, NY, peacefully entered into eternal life on August 15, 2025.
Born in Leaksville, NC, he was the son of the late Herbert B. and Mamie R. Crowder Marlow and was a graduate of Druid Hills High School and Hudson Valley Community College where he earned his Associate Degree. He served in the U.S. Navy and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, SSBN Deterrent Patrol Insignia and his Honorable Discharge for his service from 1968-1974 during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Marlow worked with Blue Circle Cement in Ravena, NY for many years and most recently retired from Cascade Tissue in Waterford where he was a Maintenance Electrician.
He worshipped at the Church of the Resurrection in Halfmoon, he was a proud volunteer at both the USS Slater in Albany and in the Capt. John J. McKenna, IV Military Courtesy Room at Albany International Airport in Colonie. Herb truly enjoyed collecting and building Lego’s, movies, playing pool and calling bingo at the Clifton Park Senior Center, working around the house, and most of all loved spending time with his family.
Beloved husband of Debra J. Sunday Marlow, devoted father of Michael (Jamie) Marlow, Christopher (Melissa) Marlow and Matthew (Kimberly) Marlow; brother of Carol (Tony) Wheeler, cherished grandfather of Caleb, Kathryn, Kyle, Abigail, Joshua and Zoe Marlow,
also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 RT-9, Clifton Park, NY 12065 on Wednesday September 10th from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. for Visitation and to the Funeral Service there that evening beginning at 6:00 p.m.
The funeral procession will assemble at the funeral home on Thursday, September 11th at 9:00 a.m. and depart at 9:15 a.m. for the committal service with military honors which will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville, NY 12871.
Those desiring, may make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude PL, Memphis, TN, 38105-9959 or to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306, in memory of Herbert Marlow.
