Obituary of Sally A. Zucaro
Sally A. Zucaro, 93, of Troy, beloved wife of the late Patrick L. “Zuco” Zucaro, peacefully passed away after a short illness on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at Shaker Place in Colonie.
Sally was born in Troy and was the daughter of the late James J. and Mary McMahon Kilgallon. She was a graduate of St. Francis deSales School and Troy High School.
Mrs. Zucaro had been employed at the Rensselaer County Department of Motor Vehicles office in Troy, had previously been employed at the former Denby’s Department Store in Troy and assisted her loving husband in the operation of Zucaro’s Imperial Wine and Liquor Store in Troy for over 45 years.
Sally enjoyed going to the races in Saratoga, Racino, Casino’s, travelling with friends and most of all spending time with her family, in particular her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had been a past member of the Troy Italian Community Center and was an avid fan of both the New York Yankees and New York Giants.
Sally cherished her marriage of over 70 years to her beloved husband Patrick until his passing on February 7, 2023.
Survivors include son, Patrick J. Zucaro (Vincenza), daughter Mary Jo Schneider (Louis “Louie”), grandchildren Pasquale, Peter and Bianca Zucaro and Brooke Gross (Mark), great grandchildren James (Leah), Marianna and Anthony Jerian and Sienna Gross, brother James Kilgallon (Monica), sisters Mary Theresa Connelly and Carol Rotelli, also surviving are several nieces and nephews and their families.
Sally was predeceased by her sister Kathleen Kilgallon and brother Thomas Kilgallon, brothers-in-law James Connelly, Donald Rotelli, Marco Zucaro (Dorothea) and Carl Ostwald, sisters-in-law Jane Zucaro, Catherine Esposito (Paul) and Josephine Smith (Warren) and infant grandson Eugene Patrick Zucaro.
Relatives and friends are invited to the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182 for Calling Hours on Monday, October 13, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 12 Noon and for the Funeral Service at Noon.
Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Troy.
