Allen was such a caring friend whom we met at Lenoir Rhyne College in 1971
He was a groomsman in our wedding and we had some wonderful times with him and Cande
He was always so thoughtful over the years to call and check on us
We loved him and will miss him

Cande, Victor, Alyssa and Abby. We are heartbroken for all of you over the loss of your Husband, your Dad and Grandfather. I always loved over the years having chats with Allan down by the road between our two homes. Some of those chats lasted minutes and some an hour or more - but always a welcome break especially on a hectic day. He was always so kind and just great to be around and more importantly - so proud of all of you and his grandchildren. I will miss those days and those chats- We will miss him. With our thoughts and prayers for all of you and Allan, Sincerely Chris and Pam Semenza

I had the privilege to coach youth ice hockey with "Big Al" for several when our sons played together in the Clifton Park Youth Hockey organization. It was an honor to work with him and to coach his son. Al was a patriotic, passionate, and honorable man and he will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
"Forty-five" Big Al.

I’ve known Alan since my sophomore year of high school. He was an outstanding athlete in football and track. His Dad - Burt Barger was well known in high school athletics and his Mom was a guidance counselor at Davie County High School. . I’m sorry to hear of his passing and send condolences to his sister Mary Ellen.
Respectfully,
Dana Triplett
