Obituary of Louis J. "Joe" Silvestro

Louis J. “Joe” Silvestro, 61, of Brunswick, peacefully entered into eternal life at home surrounded by his loving family on October 18, 2025.

Born in Troy, NY, he was the son of Theresa Sfara Silvestro and the late Nicholas Silvestro and was a graduate of Troy High School.

Joe was a man of strong faith. He loved Jesus, his mother and his father. He also enjoyed long walks through nature.

He was a communicant of Our Lady of Victory Church in Sycaway and had been a communicant of Sacred Heart Parish in Troy.

Beloved son of Theresa Silvestro, devoted brother of Nicholas A. (Barbara) Silvestro, cherished uncle of Candace Silvestro, Fallon (Jose Sanchez) Silvestro and Nicole (Ricardo Delosantos) Silvestro, loving nephew of Laura (late, Aldo) Sfara and their son Louis Sfara, also survived by his great nieces and great nephews; Amarianna Delosantos, Eve Silvestro, twins Ricardo and Nicholas Delosantos, Antonio Delosantos and Sophia Sanchez.

Relatives and friends are invited to Our Lady of Victory Church, 55 North Lake Ave, Troy, NY 12180 for his Visitation on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 from 9 to 10 a.m. which will be followed at 10 a.m. by his Mass of Christian Burial.

Joe will be laid to rest alongside his father at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville, NY 12081 at Noon following the Mass.

The Silvestro family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the first responders who came to the home to assist with Joe’s unexpected passing from Brunswick #1 Fire Co., New York State Police in Brunswick and to Michael J. Barna, Funeral Director of the Morris-Stebbins-Miner & Sanvidge Funeral Home for his compassionate, thorough and professional guidance.

Those desiring, may make memorial contributions to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105, in memory of Louis J. “Joe” Silvestro.
