Obituary of Sandra J. Sickles
Sickles, Sandra J., 74, of Ravena—formerly of Wynantskill, passed away at her residence on October 30, 2025. "Sandi" was a graduate of Catholic Central High School (Class of '69), and went on to graduate from SUNY Oswego earning a degree in English. Sandi worked for many years as a Business Manager with Verizon/Bell Atlantic/NYNEX/NY Telephone, retiring early and soon after beginning a new adventure nurturing the Infants at Viking Child Care (HVCC). She sure loved snuggling those babies!
For many years, Sandi could be found leading her Daughter’s Girl Scout Troop and volunteering with the Hudson Valley Girl Scout Council. Exhibiting a passion for and strong commitment to community service, Sandi will always be remembered for being kind and generous above all else.
Sandi is survived by her cherished Daughter and the light of her life Jessica E. Sickles, in addition to her Sisters Janice Russell (Late, Patrick Jr.) and Jo-Anne Wilson, beloved In-Law’s Rex and Jeanie Sickles, Cynthia Hill (Late, John), JoAnne Greene (Jack), several nieces and nephews: Nanette Capano, Bryan Williams, Lori Pratt, Sara Greene, Alison (Kevin) Calacone, Dylan (Alysha) Sickles, Drew (Frannie) Sickles, Dacia (Bryan) Moore, Shannon Russell (Dennis), Patrick (Deanna) Russell III, Garth (Lori) Russell, Michael (Helene) Russell; and many grand nieces and nephews whom she adored.
Sandi also leaves behind lifelong friends Kathy (Bob) Anglum, Margaret (Michael) Dennin, and Diane (Dave) Fazioli, Dona Frazee and Pat Daboll.
Sandi is predeceased by her husband of 40 years, George G. “Jerry” Sickles, as well as her Father and Mother Harold A. Wilson Jr. and Mary Margaret (Jannicelli) Wilson and her Sister Kathryn A. Wilson and her nephew Dustin Reilly Sickles. We find peace in trusting that Sandi-Baby and Big Jer are together, once again. Hopefully, by the beach on Cape Cod. Sandi will be sorely missed by all of those who knew her, but most of all by her Daughter, Jes.
