ALEXANDER R. “OLE” OLEKOSKI
Alexander R. “Ole” Olekoski, 72, beloved husband of Margaret E. “Margi” Downey Olekoski, passed away on November 6, 2025 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
Born in Troy, NY, he was the son of late Alexander R. Olekoski and the late Agnes Bailey Olekoski Lowe. He was a graduate of Troy High School.
Ole was well known and respected by so many in the Capital District having been employed at Marty Burke’s South End Tavern where for 47 years he served as a Waiter, Cook and Bartender to the “Burkee’s” crowds. Ole and his son also owned and operated their family landscaping business; Ole & Son Landscaping.
Ole enjoyed many things in life, especially golf, classic car shows, bowling, hosting parties, vacations, going out to dinner and enjoying a steak, football, especially the New York Jets and his dogs. Most of all, he loved and cherished his grandkids.
Beloved husband to “Margi” Margaret E. Downey Olekoski, devoted father of Alex (fiancé, Melissa McLaughlin) Olekoski, Stefanie Rossi, the late Michael P. “Ole” Olekoski, Kristina Otero, and Robert (Sara Reyes) Horan, loving brother to Paul (Barbara) Olekoski, Betty Sue Hall, Debbie Plumadore, Denise Gold, the late Mary (late, Dallas) Rankin, and the late Jay Lowe, cherished grandfather to Roman, Quintin, Annaleigh and Frankie Olekoski, Gavin and Gianna Rossi, Bryan (fiancé, Brittany Carroll) Horan and Katelynn Horan, great grandfather of Aspyn Abbott, also survived by several nieces and nephews, their family and many friends..
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrated Ole’s life with his family on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182.
