Obituary of Julia Lee Sheremeta
Julia Lee Sheremeta, 68, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025.
Julia was born April 25, 1957, in Troy, New York the daughter of Peter Sheremeta and Eleanor Bell (Fascia). Julia grew up with siblings and cousins, sharing memories of childhood joy.
After graduating from Cohoes High School, Julia was an Art History Student attending Siena College until a car accident in 1977.
Julia enjoyed time with her family watching tv, crafting, playing games and spending summers swimming in the backyard pool. Julia’s passion for the arts continued through watercolors, oil paintings, pastels as well as written short stories and poems. Julia was the Design Editor for capAbility Magazine where she also contributed a monthly column and cover art.
At her apartment in Brunswick, Julia enjoyed hosting regular Sunday dinners with family to include take-out from Plum Blossom.
Julia retired to The Wesley Community where she continued to use her imagination and create her art, while gaining a passion for BINGO. Julia was a member of Chapel and joined in weekly prayer. The family would like to thank The Wesley Community staff for their compassionate care during this difficult time and for supporting Julia for the past 14 years.
Remaining to cherish Julia’s memory are parents: father Peter Sheremeta and mother Eleanor (Fascia), brothers: Peter (Maria) and Paul (Patrisia), sisters: Anne and Johna (Jason Bittner) nieces: Katie (Darwak), Gillian and Emily, and nephew, Zachary; great nieces: Raven, Riley and Lillian along with close cousins from the Bell and Forino families along with lifelong friend Kathy Maxwell.
Preceding Julia in death is stepfather John (Fascia).
Memorial services will be held at Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 RT-9, Clifton Park, New York 12065, with Clergy officiating. Calling hours are December 1, 2025 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Interment will be in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, New York where she will be laid to rest with her stepfather John Fascia.
