Obituary of Harold J. Peabody, III
Harold James “Jimmy” Peabody, III, 59, of Troy, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany.
Born in Troy, NY, he is the son of Cheryl A. (stepfather, Ross) Licata the late Harold J. Peabody, Jr. and was educated in Troy, completing his schooling at Troy High School, before going into the construction field.
Jimmy was an accomplished tradesman and his field of expertise in the trades was roofing. He held positions with a variety of companies in the roofing industry to include with Tecta America (Weatherguard) in Albany.
He enjoyed on-line gaming.
Jimmy had been a member of the Lansingburgh Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #3773 and as much as he didn’t show his faith openly, he did have faith in Christ and knew his Lord and Savior.
Father of Harold J. (Laura) Peabody, IV, Emilee Watson, and Tayler Peabody; brother of Mark Peabody, Michael Peabody, Craig (Sondra) Peabody, Traci (Daniel Kosarovich) Peabody, Margie Peabody, Jeffrey (Janet) Peabody, Michael Hill and the late Robert Peabody and Thomas Peabody; grandfather of Ryan Peabody, Amelia Peabody, Jordan Mathes, nephew of Mark (Chris) Peabody, Cheryl (John) Morgan, Dianne (Tom) Piterniak and the late Linda Williams, Sr., Victoria Michaels, Brian Peabody, Michael Peabody and Terri Hill who raised him and was like his mother, also survived by several nieces and nephews. Jimmy is also leaving behind his best friend and partner for over 16 years, April O’Donnell.
Relatives and friends are invited to Calling Hours on Monday, January 12, 2026 from 12 Noon to 2:00 p.m. at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (at the corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182 where at 2:00p.m. that afternoon the Funeral Service with Reflections and Prayer will begin.
Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Troy.
