Obituary of Marie T. King

MARIE T. KING

Marie Theresa Cancilla King, 102, of Troy, formerly of Lansingburgh, peacefully entered into eternal life on Thursday, March 5, 2026.

Born in Troy, NY, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Alexcina Charboneau Cancilla and was the beloved wife to the late Eugene King who passed away 1970.

Mrs. King retired after 35 years of dedicated service as seamstress from Cluett, Peabody & Co. in Troy.

She loved to travel and had a special bond with her nieces and nephews; never missing anything for them and always being with them brought her and them great joy.

Marie was a member of the Cohoes Community Center and was a communicant of St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh.

She was predeceased by her all of her siblings; Joseph (late, Elizabeth) Cancilla, James (late, Ruth) Cancilla, Josephine (late, John) King, Catherine (late, Herbert) King and Helen (late, William) Rude.

Aunt Marie is survived by her loving nieces and nephews and their families.

Relatives and friends are invited to Marie’s Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh and to her wake also on Tuesday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (at the corner of 115^th Street in Lansingburgh), Troy, NY 12182.

Interment will be held in St. Jean’s Cemetery, Troy.

Marie’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to her caregivers at the Van Rensselaer Manor for the excellent care which they provided.
