Obituary of Nancy H. Nelson
Nancy Louise (Harriman) Nelson, 91, of Clifton Park, NY, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026, at her home.
Nancy (Harriman) Nelson was born on December 27, 1934, to Walter Everett and Gertrude Amy (Hutchison) Harriman. She graduated from Mechanicville High School in 1952 and, the following year, married Clifford John “Jack” Nelson, on July 12, 1953.
Nancy and Jack made their home in the tri-city area, where they lovingly raised their family. She found great joy in traveling with her husband, tending to her garden, knitting, and reading. Above all, Nancy cherished time spent with her family—especially watching her great-grandchildren play and grow.
Known for her warmth and affection, Nancy had a tradition of asking for a big hug before parting from any family visit—a simple gesture that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Nancy is survived by her children: Debra Anne Pitman, James Michael (Karen Ann) Nelson, Gary Everett Nelson, Glenn Steven (Karen Marie) Nelson and John Clifford (Christina) Nelson.
Grandchildren: Cari-Anne (Conrad Alexander) Rodriguez, Jack Malcom Pitman, Kristen Ann (Richard Alexander) Bates, Steven James Nelson, Cortney Louise Webb, Kaitlyn Marie Nelson, and Michael David Nelson.
Great grandchildren: Melanie Skye, Jacob Luis, Benjamin Alexander, Jonah Nelson, Zayden Maddox, Eric Alexander, Alison Saveria, McKenna Adeline, Eleana Rae, and Jackson Alexander.
She is preceded in death by her husband: Clifford John Nelson, parents: Walter Everett and Gertrude Amy (Hutchison) Harriman, child: William John Nelson, sister: Gertrude M. Gove and brother: Wilfred James Harriman.
