Obituary of Mary Jo Brown

Mary Jo Brady Brown, 91, of Loudonville and formerly of Clifton Park, beloved wife of the late Bruce Breakell Brown, peacefully entered into eternal life early Saturday morning, May 9, 2026.

 

Born in Albany, NY, Mary Jo was the daughter of the late Joseph M. and Lillian Brady, both having had emigrated to America from Ireland.  She was a graduate of Vincentian Institute “VI” in Albany and the College of St. Rose where she earned her BS in Business Education.  After working for 22 years as the Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent, Mrs. Brown retired in 1994 from Shenendehowa Central School District. 

 

Mary Jo was deeply committed to her faith. She attended Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Round Lake.  Throughout her years in the parish, she was also the Secretary for Pastoral Care, a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, Bereavement Committee member and Advertising Director. She had also been a member of the Tuesday Morning prayer group and the Clifton Park Elks Auxiliary.  She participated in a Bridge club for several decades.

 

Mary Jo was devoted to her children, Terence J. Hoyt, Eileen L. (Joseph) Carbone, and Mary Kate (Andrew) Bertone, Erick B. (Jody) Brown and the late Philip F. Brown.   She showed them a consistent deep love and caring in her words and actions. She was sister of Patricia Danzig, cherished grandmother of Chelsea, Amanda and Michael Carbone, Bridget and Nicholas Bertone, Cory Brown, Sierra and Avery Brown, loving aunt to Mary Beth Hartfelder, Marsha, Stephen and Matthew Danzig and Darcy Plunkett.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home for Calling Hours on Monday, May 18, 2026 from 4 to 7 p.m. and to Corpus Christi Church, 2001 US-9 (at Ushers Rd.) Round Lake, NY 12151 on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. for the Mass of Christian Burial.

 

Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.

 

Those desiring, may make memorial contributions to Corpus Christi Church Building Fund or to the Salvation Army, in memory of Mary Jo Brown.
