Obituary of Maria A. Batko

Maria A. Batko, 91, of East Greenbush, formerly of Cohoes and Watervliet, peacefully entered into eternal life surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at Evergreen Commons.

Born and educated in Tarnow, Poland, she was the daughter of the late Franciscek Ptak and the late Tekla Urban Ptak.

Maria was self employed having done housecleaning her entire life for many families.

She loved and could always be found sewing, knitting or gardening.

Devoted mother of Maria (late, Edward) Simmons of Loudonville, John Batko of East Greenbush, Stanley Batko of Cohoes, Henry (Denise) Batko of Dana Point, CA, and Bruno (Carrie) Batko of Rexford, cherished grandmother of Kyle Simmons, Katie Dangerfield, John Batko, Jr., Tricia Batko, Alex Batko, Noah Batko and Emma Batko, adored great grandmother to Rhiannon, Carly, Cameron, Caroline, Emilia, Evelyn and Owen.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 RT-9, Clifton Park, NY 12065 for Calling Hours on Monday, June 8, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 and to her interment which will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, 29 Delatour Rd., Watervliet, NY 12189.
