Obituary of Nassib Tlaiji

Nassib Tlaiji, 89, of Troy, beloved husband for 56 years to Sabah Barbera Tlaiji, entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 5, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on July 7, 1936, in Hilan, Lebanon, he was the loving son of the late Moussa Tlaiji and Lamma Habak Tlaiji.

Nassib was the beloved husband to Sabah Barbera Tlaiji, with whom he shared a beautiful life built a beautiful life centered on faith, love, and devotion to family. Together, they created a strong and loving home that became the foundation for generations to come.

He was the devoted father of Hatem (Nicole Amyouni) Tlaiji, Fouad (May Hanna) Tlaiji, Rola (Tony) Faraj and Milo (Jessica Jabbour) Tlaiji, cherished grandfather to Cassandra (Alex) Stevanovic, Nichola Nassib, Tina  and Catrina Tlaiji, Jaysen and Chloe Tlaiji, Syrita, Myanna and Jamil Faraj, Joseph, Lamis, Leah and Jovan Tlaiji, adored great grandfather of Luka and Kristian Stevanovic, brother of Chamalin (late, Izhak) Saiid, the late Fouad (late, Wajiha) Tlaiji, the late, Salim (late, Julia) Tlaiji, the late, Milad (late Zabed) Tlaiji, the late, Hassib (late, Zahra) Tlaiji, the late Amalein (late, Jowad) Habak, the late Noufalin (late, Mounir) Rizk, also survived by many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends whose lives he touched.

Nassib will always be remembered for his unwavering support to his family, his wisdom, strength, courage and the way he made everyone feel loved and valued in their own special ways. He enjoyed singing and especially loved playing cards with his kids. He worshiped and was a member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in Albany.

On Wednesday morning, relatives and friends are invited to go directly to St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 1 St. George Place, Albany, NY 12202 for the Funeral Liturgy which will be held that morning, June 10^th at 10:00 A.M. and to the interment which will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Troy.
