Obituary of Joshua D. DeBenedetti

Joshua D. “Josh” DeBenedetti, 53, of Delanson, formerly of Clifton Park, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2026 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady.

Born in Albany, NY, Joshua is the son of Richard J. and Kathryn E. Gepfert DeBenedetti and was a graduate of Shenendehowa High School, where he played football.

Joshua was employed at Amrize Cement in Ravena, NY where he was a Production Assistant II.

Josh was an avid fisherman, loved all sports, especially football, music, cooking, gardening and playing the drums.

In addition to his being survived by his beloved parents, Joshua is the loving father to Katie DeBenedetti, Alice DeBenedetti and Joshua B. DeBenedetti, dear brother to Jacob (Abby) DeBenedetti and Jason (Anita) DeBenedetti, proud grandfather to Elena DeBenedetti, also survived by Aunt Rose and Uncle Frank Paturzo, nephew Parker DeBenedetti, cousins Lisa Heller, Angela and Ron DeBenedetti and his very good friend, Kenny Brown, at work.

Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 RT-9, Clifton Park, NY 12065. There will not be any public services.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring, may make memorial contributions to Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF), 1757 Central Ave, Suite 102, Albany, NY 12205, in memory of Joshua D. DeBenedetti.
