Obituary of Richard A. Lane, Sr.

Richard A. Lane, Sr., 89, passed away June 13, 2026, at Samaritan Hospital after a brief illness.

Richard was born on April 25, 1937 in Gloucester, MA to Mary(Sonia) & Raymond F. Lane. He grew up in Gloucester, MA, then went on to attend school in Minnesota where he earned his certification as an HVAC technician.  After completing school, he moved to New York to work for T & T Body King.  He enjoyed boating, and spent most of his free time on Sacandaga Lake & Lake George.

He is survived by his brother, Robert Lane, his children, Mary (Thomas) Forrest, Raymond (June) Lane and Richard (Melissa) Lane.  He is also survived by grandchildren Thomas 3rd, David & James Forrest, Marlana, Raymond Jr. & Amanda Lane, Dylan & Riley Lane and 5 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth and his parents, Mary & Raymond Lane.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the medical staff at Samaritan Hospital for their support and care.
