Obituary of Harold J. Sharer

Harold J. Sharer, 83, of Lansingburgh, beloved husband for 48 years to Charlene M. Moskal Sharer, entered into eternal life on Monday, August 10, 2026.

Born in Albany, New York, he was the son of the late Harold and Loretta Culnan Sharer and was a graduate of St. Joseph’s School in Albany.

Mr. Sharer retired from the Albany County Water Treatment Plant and had previously been employed at F&M Schaeffer Brewing Co. in North Albany and also as a roofer.

Harold was a communicant of St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh where he enjoyed taking up the collection. He also enjoyed gardening, cooking and camping at King Philips Campground and Resort in Lake George where he was known as the ‘Mayor”. Most of all, Harold loved his daughters and his dogs.

Beloved husband to Charlene, devoted father of Janel M. Sharer and Jennifer A. Sharer; brother of Carol (late, Rudy) Caiazza, the late Thomas (wife, Agnes) Sharer and the late, Joseph (late, Alice ) Sharer, also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families.

Relatives and friends are invited to Calling Hours on Monday, August 17, 2026 from 5:00 p.m.  to 7:00 p.m. at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, 565 Fourth Avenue (at the corner of 115^th Street in Lansingburgh), Troy, NY 12182 and to Harold’s Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh.

Interment will be held in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
