My sincere condolences to Sandy and family, I have good memories of Gerry as a classmate at La Salle, he had a great sense of humor , was a great asset to our football and basketball teams. I saw Gerry last at a mini class reunion in St Pete’s Beach, Fla,, we all had a good time and it was great to catch up with him . Rest In Peace Gerry

If his beautiful daughter is any indication of the type of person he was, I have no doubt that Jerry was a wonderful man. I have had the privilege of calling Jes both colleague and friend. Shortly after we met, it became very apparent how important her parents are to her and it was clear she shared a special bond with her dad. Reading about him here helped me to understand even more what a terrific guy he was. Although I am grateful his suffering is over, I am so very sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you all at this difficult time.

UG was one of the very best uncles I had. He treated me and my brothers like his own. He was at all of our greatest achievements, both academic and athletic. He even traveled to California to cheer me on for my greatest achievement, marrying my best friend!
I can recall the many times of stopping by his house in the middle of the night to finish homework on their computer. Aunt Sandi and UG would take Dustin and I on vacations with them. The last vacation was when I came back from the military and he said it was time to go and he took me with his two best ladies to Rhode Island to get some away time.
My 16 yearold daughter was just telling me how she remembered swimming in his pool every summer. She told me that Aunt Sandi and UG were part of her great summer visits to Gram and PopSickles house.
Everyone that knew UG could tell you he was one of the most honest people you knew. He was never going to BS you, he was going to tell you the truth, even if you didn't want to hear it.
He would do anything for anyone, even give you his shirt off his back. I think he actually was giving a fellow patient his clothes and even shoes! He was just an all around amazing guy, who I was lucky to call UG.
I haven't been home in years and didn't get to see UG suffering from early onset Alzheimer disease. Not sure if that was a blessing, but it made me remember UG as a strong man who went down fighting.
Just heresay but I even heard he was pretty good at convincing his nurses he deserved to leave. I can just imagine how awesome his stories were.
UG, thank you for all the great memories! I pray you are so much happier now! Know you have a lot of people that miss you, but as long as you are UG, that is all that matters.
All our UG love,
Bryan, Dacia, Maven, Braylynn, Streeter, Kivlyn
