Obituary of David R. Dozois
David Roy "Chop" Dozois, of Halfmoon, passed away at home on October 6, 2020.
He was born on October 23, 1953 in Albany, NY at the Albany Medical Center, the second son of four. His parents were John and Barbara Amsden Dozois from Albany.
He is survived by his older brother Steven Dozois, his younger brother Peter Dozois and his wife Nancy as well as his youngest brother Christopher Dozois, Uncle of Mathew and Scott Dozois and of Laura Carlson and Caitlin Elling, nephew of Paul Amsden and Mary Amsden, also survived by 6 cousins.
In his younger life, the family lived in Colonie until he was 13 and then moved to the Village of McKownville in the Town of Guilderland. He graduated from Christian Brothers Academy in 1971.
He and his family spent summers at the camp on Lake Champlain as well as the Adirondack Mtns.
David had many hobbies and interests.
His first job was at King Shell in McKownville, which led to a long life of Auto Mechanics. He also was an avid motorcycle rider and race car enthusiasts. In his late 20’s, he became a tractor-trailer driver doing cross country trucking. In the late 90’s, he lived in Las Vegas for 10 years and then moved back to the Albany area. He continued his driving career until he passed on October 6th.
He will be missed by his family and many friends.
There will be no services at this time until his brothers can come back together in Albany.
