Michael J. Canty was born to Mary L. Canty and Henry Edge Sr. On June 25th, 1962.
Michael was born in Troy, NY. He attended the Troy school district and was fond of the high school music choir where he had the opportunity to sing with the famous Karen and Michael Carpenter.
Michael married his high school sweatheart Dorain Lewis who he was together for 42 years with since they were 18 years old on April 23rd, 1986. He then took up the art of cooking and worked as a chef for many years. Michael had relocated to Baltimore Md, for a period of time where he became an outstanding worker for the “NORTH APPOLD UNITED METHODIST CHURCH” for a few years.
Michael then moved back upstate to Troy, NY where he worked for ROSS VALVE COMPANY and he also became the president to the Taylor Apt. Tenant Association until he became ill. Michael loved his beloved daughter Michelle along with music, dancing and fishing and he also loved sports “DALLAS COWBOYS” was his favorite football team.
Michael was preceded in death by both his parents, mother, Mary L. Canty and Father, Henry Edge Sr. Also, preceded by his brother Henry Edge Jr.
He leaves to cherish his only daughter Michelle (Rodger) Cesare and two adorable granddaughters and his stepson John Foster and grandkids.
Michael also leaves behind his stepmother, Vashti G. Edge, siblings Tyrone(Pamela) Canty, Anthony Harrison, Terry d. Canty, Henrietta Edge all of Troy, NY. Tyiesha Edge of Albany, NY.
Latisha Raines, Phaedra Rose, Darren (Katrina) Rose all of Baltimore, MD also, his only uncle Bennie Canty Jr. (Julia) of Troy, NY and a host of nieces and nephews that he loved.
