Obituary of Gloria F. Chesterfield
After a tough illness, Gloria F. Chesterfield (Pulver), of Ballston Spa. Formerly of Troy, NY 84 years of age, passed January 4, 2021. She was born February 26, 1936 in Troy, NY and graduated from Troy High School in 1953. Gloria was the wife of her beloved late Richard Chesterfield, who passed on June 11, 2011, also the wife of Don O’Donnell, her high school sweetheart, who passed away June 2, 1961 and too, the wife of William LaRose. She also spent many wonderful years together with Jack Dwyer. Daughter of the late Fran Ambuhl; sister of the late Joyce Duff. She is survived by her three children, Donnalee O’Donnell Smith (Dan); Don O’Donnell (Nancy), William J. LaRose (Mary Pat); Grandchildren Devon Heidelmark (Jason), Colin Smith; Danielle LaRose; Nicole LaRose; Leah O’Donnell & four great grandchildren, Austyn, Joseph, Preston and Kaitlin; also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and cousins.
She will miss terribly her precious adorable cat, Polly. Gloria retired from Rensselaer County Family Court, Troy, NY in 1995, after 35 years of service, was an usher at Proctors Theater in Schenectady for 10 years; an election inspector for 30 years. She liked exercising of any kind – Bike Riding, ice skating, snowshoeing, hiking and X-country ski trips with Mohawk Valley Hiking Club for many years. She loved the beach, the islands and traveling. Really enjoyed her many many walks at Saratoga Battlefield, especially those long long walks with Richard and totally enjoyed looking forward to our 15 times in Aruba.
We’re sure she cherishes the fact she is out of pain and suffering but she sure will miss her kids whom were her life! (Rest in peace Mom),
Private funeral services will be held at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home followed by interment in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie at the convenience of the family.
