Raymond Wise

Obituary of Raymond F. Wise

Raymond Francis Wise, 91, of Ballston Lake, beloved husband of Laura Caringi Wise, passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 14, 2021.  Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Raymond Francis and Anna Gladys (Cornick) Wise.

He was a US Army Veteran and a loyal Siena College graduate. During his professional career, Ray worked in the insurance industry as a claims adjuster. Ray was a faithful parishioner at the Roman Catholic Community of Corpus Christi in Round Lake for over fifty-six years. He was a founding member of Clifton Park Elks Lodge 2466, and in retirement he was a volunteer instructor and region leader for the AARP’s Driver Safety Program. He also served as a member of the Town of Clifton Park’s Board of Assessment Review.

Ray loved the time he and Laura spent together with family. He took tremendous pride in all his family and their families too, including very much so his grandchildren, and his many nieces and nephews who cared as much for him as he did for them. Ray was an avid golfer and member of McGregor Links Country Club for over 40 years where he enjoyed making many memories with his family and friends. He was a great conversationalist and a humble, sincere, loyal friend. Ray was always reading something, particularly history, religion, or anything about the financial markets. Ray was a fan of college football, hockey, and basketball, and an even bigger fan of his grandchildren’s sports, school, and all things in their lives.

Ray is survived by his beloved wife, Laura, of 59 years; his children Raymond (Kerin O’Toole) Wise Jr. of Brookline, MA and Mary (Todd) Deppe of Avon, CT; his cherished grandchildren Hannah, Paige and Andrew Deppe; siblings Claire Kiegle of Niskayuna, William Wise of Lake George, and the late Virginia Quinlan, Jean Kelleher and Nancy Fowler; and many nieces and nephews.
