Years of holidays spent with Scott, Nancy, the boys and Don provided many memories. Like his finding the secret stash of Christmas cookies in the garage and eating just a few. Or the time he couldn't figure out why the power drill wasn't working properly only to be shown (by me) he had it set in reverse. But my favorite is when we asked his opinion of a movie, we all went to see together, he'd say , “It had a beginning, a middle and an end. It was good. “ And now Don, we celebrate your life. I’m grateful to have shared some time in the middle and the end and yes it was good.

Scott - Sorry to hear about your dad's passing. He was a caring and friendly man. He liked to talk about local construction now and then. Always had a kind word and seemed to enjoy life. I am thinking of him meeting up with my father in heaven and playing some golf!

Knowing someone for more than thirty years makes him special enough but Don was unique.
It took a while to know the depths of his generous spirit. As a fellow architect I admired the unstinting and decades-long donation of his talents to his parish and to the welfare of its members.
Few members of the Troy Country club know that much of their enjoyment is due to Don's careful attention to improvements of facilities and grounds even long after his presidency. As one who knows how hard it can be to budge municipal authorities I admired Don's patient capacity to persuade the Town of Brunswick to value commonsense planning. I feel privileged to have shared in his gentle and good humored friendship. I believe that nothing less than profound spiritual strength enabled him to endure, with that quizzical smile, so many physical setbacks over recent years. I am sure that has well earned eternal rest with his Maker.

Our deepest sympathies to all of Don’s family. We knew Don from OLV and always looked forward to talking to him. Wendy especially enjoyed her service on church committees with Don and discussing his time at SUNY. He was such a nice man and we will miss him.

Dear Lambert family - we are saddened with the passing of your dad. Although I never met him, it is obvious from his obituary that he was a great role model and lived a life of service to good. Thank you to him for his service to our country and his community. I'm sure the tears today will soon turn into smiles from great memories and special moments. My family will keep your family in our prayers. ~Matt
