Ann Marie and I bonded many years ago when I and others from Indiana University visited the wonderful Mr. Whitehead. I would remain in New York City for several days after our business was conducted. Ann Marie and I enjoyed such good times! What a terrific sense of humor she possessed. She also visited me in Indianapolis and Jacksonville Beach.
I am tremendously saddened by her passing and share my condolences with her family.

Only recently Patricia and me, two friends from Germany, found out together about Ann-Marie’s sudden death with great sorrow.
We want to express our deepest sympathy to her family and friends. We first met Ann-Marie in 1988, when we spent some wonderful years in New York, the city she knew so well. She was our American friend and introduced us to a lot of typical places and customs. With her we went to the beaches of Long Island, she invited us to Thanksgiving and took us to small, but delicious restaurants as well as famous bars. We always had a great time!
In return she came to see us in Germany on a quite regular basis and together we visited places and explored beautiful areas, like Nuremberg, Regensburg, southern Bavaria and Salzburg. She not only enjoyed visiting places, but also the Bavarian language and way of life. Her favorite was the Oktoberfest, she loved the unsophisticated way to get to know other cheerful people.
It always was on our mind to get back to New York and meet her at her new home and have another wonderful time together. We are so sorry, that this will only stay a dream.
Ann-Marie, we are missing you. You will always be in our hearts. Love, Claire

This was in summer 2018 when Ann-Marie, Patricia and I met in Munich. We spent a lovely time and were very excited to hear about Ann-Marie's plans to move upstate New York.

Dear Ann Marie,
it is sad and hard to write you here. I never expected you to leave so early. My sincere condolences to your family. You definitely deserved to have a long and good life. Your career was full of responsibility, stress and care for others. I always was impressed how clever you managed it. Now you loved your new life upstate in your beautiful condo and lately were so happy to have found Finn. I am glad that you had a home at St. George's Church in Clifton Park.
Please forgive me that it took me a while to realize the reason for your sudden silence. When Claire and I found out, we were devastated. I still cannot believe not to be able to grab the phone and hear you answering „Que pasa?“. I think of you every day. So many items remind me of you, so many memories, so many common interests, confidentialities. We were close friends, sisters at heart, like we called it. However you were living in NY, me living in Germany. We met more than 30 years ago in NYC and kept a lifelong friendship, also thanks to your German-Irish ancestors. In New York you took me to flea markets and street fairs, we went to Fire Island and Roy Orbison concert, you introduced me to „The Far Side by Gary Larsson“ and great dishes I did not know. I met Mom Virginia and loved her. Later you met Mom Lisa and loved her. We had good times whenever you came visiting Germany. You liked Munich a lot and rocked the Oktoberfest with your „rocket man“ Matthias, my husband. You were always interested in stories about our children. I appreciated your emphatic way as well as your smart style, your creativity and good sense of humour. Your professional thinking and good advice once helped me to find the right job. Only 3 years ago in June we had a wonderful trip to Paris. I see both of us sitting in that little café and enjoying the french way of life. It was just great! You were such a special friend to me. Now you are sitting between your beloved Mom Virginia and Angel Aloisius from Bavaria on a cloud somewhere up there. I send my love to everybody who loved you, too. We will miss you very much!
Deine Patricia

My husband, Jim, and I extend our deepest condolences to Ann Marie's family. I just found out from her niece, Jenn, yesterday that she had passed. We last saw Ann Marie when we drove to visit her and see her gorgeous condo in October 2019. My 19-year-old cat had passed that morning, and I was very sad but told Ann Marie that seeing her would cheer me up. It did, indeed. We had lunch and a great visit. The pandemic came and we never had another in-person visit after that, although Ann Marie and I spoke on the phone at regular intervals. Ann Marie was a wonderful friend, whom I first met when she was working for Mr. Whitehead, and I was working across the street at FSVC. Her sudden passing is a great loss to us all. Jim and I share in the family's sorrow and will keep you in our prayers. I am very grateful to Jenn for taking Finn into her home. Ann Marie is looking on and smiling!

I am so sorry. The light in the world is dimmer, the music less joyful. I was privileged to know Ann Marie, love her and treasure her friendship. I had the wonderful opportunity to talk with her the Wednesday before her death in our church office.
I will always remember her smile, her energy and her kindness.
I pray with time the sharp edges of grief soften and I will hold you all in my prayers

Ann Marie was one of the first people we met after we moved in to our condo in Malta. She was very welcoming to us and we enjoyed her as our neighbor. We enjoyed a nice glass of wine together now and then and great conversations. It’s hard to walk past her door now and know that she is no longer with us. May she Rest In Peace.

I knew Ann Marie for a number of years - we would see each at least once a week at Beyoglu, our favorite neighborhood restaurant. We last spoke of meeting in the City to catch up on the past year since COVID kept us all in our respective homes. Such a lovely, wonderful person and she will be so missed. My condolences to the family.

My sincere and heartfelt condolences to Ann-Marie's family. I have known Ann-Marie for 20 years and we spent countless happy times together. She became an honorary member of my family and was included in graduation celebrations, holiday dinners and numerous weekends at my home in Red Bank, NJ and Lake George, NY. May God bless Ann-Marie in Heaven and may she have the joy of reuniting with her parents. My prayers are being said for her.

I met Ann Marie through business around 2008 when she worked for John Whitehead. We lived not far from each other in NYC and would met every so often for a meal and for many years we shared Christmas Day dinner together at her favorite restaurant Beyoglu, where she knew everyone. She was a lovely person that I am so happy to have known and am stunned by her loss. My sincere condolences to her family. She will be missed.

Ann Marie loved crafting and quilting and knitting. I decided not to remove my Christmas tree this year until Valentine's weekend. We had fun making Valentine decorations for my tree.

I met Ann Marie two years ago at a favorite restaurant (at the bar). I was waiting for my table and having a birthday drink with friends. Sitting next to me was a stranger. She was very friendly and we quickly introduced and shared conversation. She said she was new to our area and from NYC. Of course, we got into a conversation about politics and family and church. I asked her if she had found a church yet and she hadn't. I invited her to visit my church - St. George's in nearby Clifton Park. She showed up the next Sunday and we have been friends ever since. She was part of our COVID pod, basically eating outdoors until the weather got too cold and sharing meals with our very small group in our homes. I celebrated Thanksgiving with her this year when we couldn't travel because of the virus. We shared transportation to get our COVID shots. I will never forget her friendly attitude and generosity. My sincere condolences to her family. She will be missed.
