Obituary of Suchart Surakan

Bic never went by the name Suchart, except in legal papers. He was the soulmate and loving husband of Jacqueline (LaFleche) Surakan, the proud father of sons Tai B. and Logan N. Surakan, best older brother to Catherine Curtis (Shane) of Fort Myers, FL and Paul Johnson of Pittsfield, MA, adoring son of Prajahkjit and Edward Johnson of Pittsfield, MA, loving son-in-law of David B. LaFleche (Pat Darmetko) and Clara Burns, amazing brother-in-law to David D. LaFleche (Debbie) and Sarah St.Denis (Todd), also survived by seven loving nieces and nephews.

Bic attended Pittsfield Public Schools and was a 1987 graduate of Taconic High School. For those who knew him since he was a child might remember how he would take apart his electronic toys to figure out how they worked and that later translated to his professional work life in the technology field of Senior Project Engineer currently at Storedtech in Queensbury.

Bic loved good music and good food and drink, being with his boys, wife and family, fishing, camping, vacationing with his family in Cape Cod and Virginia, coaching his sons’ teeball, football and baseball teams, bringing Tai and Logan to their Taekwondo classes, attending Taekwondo championships, celebrating all the milestones his sons have accomplished in Taekwondo and in everyday life, and being a good friend to all. We all have funny stories about our times with Bic and that is how he would want you to remember him. He would not want anyone to be sad, but happy that you had time together. Whenever you need to smile, think of a time you had with Bic and let his light shine through you.

A wake will be held at Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 RT-9, Clifton Park, NY 12065 on Thursday, April 15th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. There will also be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
