Obituary of David James Wollyung
David James Wollyung, 34, of Reed Lane died on Friday April 30, 2021 at his residence. He was born on Feb. 16, 1987 in Lebanon, PA and was the beloved son of Edward R. and Jeanne Beard Wollyung of Clifton Park. He was a 2005 graduate of Shenendehowa High School and was a graduate of RPI in Troy where he received his bachelor’s degree in Computer science. David was an eagle scout, had been a member of the drama club at Shenendehowa, and was an avid reader. David was a software developer for Ayco in Saratoga Springs. He had been a communicant of St. Edward the Confessor Church in Clifton Park.
Dave was the kind of guy who would go to the ends of the earth to help the people he cared about. He was cerebral, yet approachable. Dave loved explaining his view on the universe, often keeping his listeners off-kilter with his embedded comedy. He had the quickest wit and the deepest sense of humor. He was generous and kind, and his humor was never at anyone else’s expense.
In addition to his parents, David is the dear brother of John Joseph Binner of Valatie, Alison M. Knowlton (Alex) of Clifton Park, Amy B. Strong (Aaron) of Austin, TX, Gregory E. Wollyung (fiancée Allison Hardy) and Alexander J. Wollyung (Morgan Clifford) of Cohoes; uncle of Jonathan Binner, Ashley Binner, Maxwell Knowlton, and Cora Strong; also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
