Obituary of Joyce C. Jones

Joyce C. Jones, 76, of Speigletown, peacefully entered into eternal life on Wednesday, June 2, 2021.

Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Evelyn Devaren Mucka and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School.

A homemaker for most her life, in her later years she had been employed at the Watervliet FCU

(currently Sunmark FCU), the Lansingburgh Central School District and at Wal-Mart in Brunswick. She was involved in many organizations having served as President of the Lansingburgh Independent Baseball League Auxiliary, President of the Waterford Columbiettes, assisted on projects with her sister Gail on the State level of the New York State Council Columbiettes, St. Bonaventure’s Church Bingo Committee and volunteered for the LIBL Bingo as well as for the Lansingburgh Boys and Girls Club Bingo.

Beloved wife of 56 years of Robert E. “Bob” Jones, devoted mother of Steven (Theresa) Jones, Theresa (Gary) Curzi and Kevin (Patty) Jones, dear sister of Gail (Rich) Sheffer, niece of Lorraine Devaren, loving grandmother to 6 grandchildren, also survived by 12 nieces and nephews,

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Monday, June 7, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the White – Sanvidge Funeral Home, 58 Leversee Rd. (RT-40 in Speigletown) Troy, NY 12182 and to her Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Transfiguration Parish, 50 Hillview Dr. (Speigletown), Troy, NY 12182.                                                                                                                                          Knights of Columbus and Columbiettes will gather to pay their respects and offer their servie at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home on Monday.

Interment will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Waterford and followed by a reception at the Waterford Knights of Columbus, 76 Grace St., Waterford, NY 12188.                                                                                                                                                                                             The Jones family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the wonderful care to all at the Van Rensselaer Manor.
