I was very sad to see that Sonny had passed away. I met him for the first time about 5 years ago when we were vacationing in Florida and had the honor of being a part of the golf group that would get together every week. We have spent the month of March in Florida every year since and I got to enjoy Sonny's sense of humor and love of golf during that time.
He was an amazing bigger than life personality and left a big impression on me. I have fond memories of my short time knowing him and am so glad I had the opportunity to get to know him.
Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss.

My first Mentor only had two and they became good friends as well - thank you so much Earl. You taught myself and many others the gypsum business and life lessons. So many daily lessons. So much fun to work for you Pard.
He always took great care of his customers and his sales people. He would put us in a tough situation's but in the end he had your back, no doubt. What a great ride it was even though it ended too early. Then he set me free into other related companies and helped me start my own business. Forever grateful for all the lessons and insight after we were forced to part. The company told him to fire me - he said no he would not. So they had someone else do that.
Will never forget that. Earl and I were very close working together and then for political reasons which he knew were wrong he said he would not do it , it was not right, but was for spite.
After he retired and what a special retirement party it was. The USG customers and the whole company was there. That was so funny and boy did we roast him in his way. The Machine was in full force that night OMG was it a fun & special send off to this wonderful mans career.
As he got settled in down south with Darlene , whom is a saint and loving wife.
Earl would call me after most every Syracuse or Siena basketball game. We would talk for half hour covering all the games details. He loved talking Basketball then he would hang up suddenly till the next time. Going to close and I thank the whole Skiff family for sharing Earl with us all these years. This Legend with never leave our hearts.
RIP Earl and thank you for everything you gave your friends - and Family.
Thank You Pard !
