Obituary of Marjorie Ann Evans
Marjorie Ann Evans, was born on January 22, 1946 in Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies at Victoria Jubilee (Lying-In) Hospital.
She leaves behind her family members; George Evans of California, Marcella Young of Jamaica, Joan Franks, Sonia Adeleke and Sandy Smith, all of Canada, Asvaldo Lattimore of the United Kingdom, Halton Evans of New York, Fred Williams and Juline Williams, both of Jamaica, Budho and Judy Francis of the United States and Loving Friends and Family. Finally her Church, “The Fatima Center Servants of Jesus and Mary”.
She was the only child Elma Williams and George Geohagen. Marjorie was baptized on May 1, 1946 at Holy Trinity Cathedral, Roman Catholic Church in Kingston, Jamaica. She attended Grantham College in Cross Road Jamaica WI; Marjorie A. Evans was formally married to Vincent Evans.
In college, she pursued a business degree and was employed as telephone operator with Jamaica Telephone Company. Marjorie relocated to America on November 24, 1981, working as a CNA. She became a U.S. Citizen on June 10, 1987. She later retired and lived in Bronx, NY.
She was a devout Catholic. She would communicate with her family. She loved her Church and family. She departed this life peacefully at Beth Abraham Nursing Home on Friday morning, April 9, 2021.
She Always said, “Remember to put back Mary’s picture on the Wall”.
“May the peace of the Almighty God Rest upon her. May it be a welcoming place, for our Savior, permeated by his Divine Mercy. May the peace of God radiate to all who believe in Him”. Amen.
Funeral Service was celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (Corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182 and was live streamed.
