Obituary of Thomas Daniel Latin, Esq.
Thomas D. Latin, Esq. 72, passed away suddenly at his home on June 2, 2021. Born in Rochester, he was the son of Saverio T. Latin and Norma M. Cimino.
Tom graduated from Madison High School and later St. John Fisher College. He attended Albany Law School where he was on the Law Review and graduated with honors. Tom worked for a number of law firms in the Albany area over the years, most recently with the law firm of Lippes, Mathias, Wexler, Friedman LLP. He had a keen legal mind and was versed in many areas of law, but dedicated most of his practice to traveling throughout the state representing members of NYSCOPBA , which he enjoyed immensely.
In his younger years, Tom was an avid skier and soccer player. He also enjoyed bowling and golf. In his later years, he developed a passion for boating and loved inviting friends on his boat to cruise around Lake George. Tom was a gourmet cook, and enjoyed fine dining as well as great wine. He loved animals and had a special affinity for cats, spending much of his free time rescuing strays and helping them find forever homes. Tom had many friends of all ages, backgrounds and walks of life.
Tom is survived by his siblings, Tina (Gary) Hogan, Gina (John) Whittman, Joseph Latin and Louise (David) Farley; his nieces, Erin Hogan, Stephanie Newton, Nora Lopez, Lauren Brooks; his nephew, Adam Darling, and his cats, Lucy and Mad Max. He will be dearly missed by his family as well as his many friends. He will be laid to rest next to his mother at Riverside Cemetery in Rochester at a later date. There will be no formal service, but a celebration of Tom's life will be held at Pasta Pane in Clifton Park on Thursday June 24, 2021 between the hours of 6-8 pm.
