So sorry to hear about John. I met John in Building 17 and had just got on the GE apprentice training program back in the late 60’s and earl 70’s. He was a man of many talents and extremely well versed on all topics. As an apprentice he was one of my mentors and taught me many things about manufacturing and life Itself. I will always be indebted to him and will forever remember and cherish the time, talent and education John so unselfishly gave to me. May he Rest In Peace and now be united with his loving wife. Take care John and hope to meet up with you again some day! Jimmy Weekes

John possessed a keen knowledge of how things worked and was able to fashion diagrams, create blueprints, make necessary parts and put it all together as a new creation, or to bring to life again something injured, no longer working and needing repair. Patience was his, in abundance --- a truly kind-hearted man with a vivid imagination, a twinkle in his eye, and a desire to create. I am saddened by his passing---he is greatly missed.

I met John about 1995 at the Monday Nite Clock Group in Burnt Hills. He was also a director of RIPchap40 of the NAWCC and he loved to attend their clock shows. One time when he was in my basement looking at the machinery I had just bought he asked if I would like to make a clock with him in his basement, I jumped at the chance. He was a patient teacher and I learned a lot about clock making and learned many new jokes. We became close friends and I benefited greatly from his mentoring. One day years ago he called me up and said in case he died before me he wanted to tell me what he thought of me, he was always very complimentary. He would do anything to help people and all he asked in return was for your friendship. He was a national treasure with a mind that I have never seen equaled and possessed every craft skill with the ability to teach them to others. I plan to see him again in the next world we talked about.

Looking for Susan today, as she was our maid of honor at our wedding 35 years ago today, I see of the passing of John. He was one of the sweetest men and a great Dad, husband of Gloria, and grandpa to Tegan and Kayla! I was always welcomed in their home, and had many wonderful conversations with him. I want you all to know that we have been apart by miles, but not in spirit. I love you all and want you to know how much I care for you! Please reach out to me, as I would love to reconnect. We are living in Riverside, IA. You can reach me at riversidelady99@gmail.com.
Our love and condolences to you all!

Big John... there are too many memories to go over in my head. Everything from the first time I met you and Gloria to that laugh you always gave when watching Kee and Skye grow up to the way you grasped my hand in the hospital that last time and told me you love me. It's not goodbye so I'll just say "see ya later". Love, Laurie
