I never had the pleasure of meeting your wife or any of your beautiful family but I have reread “ your words” many times since she passed..
What a love story that played out for many to watch and benefit from.
She devoted her life from diagnosis to her passing to fighting to educate and bring awareness to others about this devastating disease.
Her obituary spells out the efforts she and her husband set about doing
and accomplishing.
Thank you for sharing and I’m so sorry for your loss but what a legacy
she leaves behind.

We just heard about Madelines and wanted to offer our condolences. She was a nice person with a very uplifting attitude. That was helpful to me when meeting with our group in Naples. She offered many easy things to do to help improve our mobility and her suggestions helped the quality off our lives. She commented that she liked some simple things, such as watching the birds at her bird feeder. Nice inspiration to look for the good things in life. We remember her smile. She will be missed.

Madeline and I met several years ago at an ALS organization meeting, We had similar backgrounds—-ie. college instructor, ALS advocacy, etc. I was diagnosed earlier (July 2008 ). She was the inspiration for me to attend my daughter’s wedding in a wheelchair, when I was hesitant to do so, after I saw pictures of her at her son’s wedding. She was in a wheelchair but she looked so happy (and so did all her family). I’m sure she will be missed by many!

I met Madeline on her pilgrimage to Lourdes France shortly after she was diagnosed. I am a member of the Order of Malta. She was a beautiful person inside and out and I knew she was in nursing and nursing education for many years. She made a lasting impression on me. I am sorry for your loss and you all are in my prayers.

My deepest condolences on the passing of Madeline. We met Madeline’s sister Janet at our St. Peter’s Regional ALS Center at their support meetings when my husband, John, was diagnosed with ALS. We were impressed and inspired by Janet’s stories of her sister’s courageous fight against ALS. Madeline was a strong crusader for the cause of finding treatments for this horrible disease, while living her life to the fullest extent possible. Janet obviously cared very deeply for her sister.Jhh4p
