To Jim's family:
My family moved into a home in Linden Hills less than a year ago, and this neighborhood is a beautiful legacy to the man who built it. I've heard about him from some of the residents who've been here from the beginning --though it's been a long time, they remember him kindly. And so someone posted his obituary on the notice board.
The quality of the homes, which are filled with light; the care taken with the layout to afford privacy while allowing us connection; the incorporation of mature trees and the surrounding forest -- all testify to Jim's thoughtfulness and planning. Deer, wild turkeys, and fox are regular visitors, along with many species of birds. The neighbors are friendly. Many elders are able to age in place; and as they go, which is happening now, young people are moving in.
This is just a small tribute from someone who never met Jim. His life and work are a blessing to me and my family. May his memory continue to grow as a blessing.

Jim will FOREVER be remember at VRM. Especially by me. He was always then when I need his smile to brighten my day or a joke to lighten the mood. I will never forget the day we had him facing out the window as they were eating turkey sandwiches for dinner. This is the first time we had ever seen turkeys walking across the parking lot ( there were at least 20 of them) and he stated "I wonder of that's where our dinner came from?" His charm is surely missed but will live on in my memories.
