Obituary of Diane F. Welch

Diane F. "GrandDi” Welch, 62 of Cass Court died on Sunday Oct. 10, 2021 suddenly at Albany Medical Center Hospital.  She was born on August 16, 1959 in Niskayuna, NY and was the beloved daughter of Roenell Welch of Greenfield Center, NY and the late Mary E. McCormick Welch.  Diane had been the executive assistant for John G. Waite Associates, PLLC in Albany, NY.  Earlier she had worked for Alpha Geoscience of Clifton Park.  Diane loved the outdoors.  Known to go kayaking, hiking, bungee jumping or camping.  She was a great quilter, making items for her family, close friends, and the needy.  She loved to bake and being in nature.  Diane was an active communicant of Corpus Christi Church in Ushers.  She was known as "GrandDi" to many, especially her little ones.

She is the devoted mother of Paul J. Severence (Jennifer) of Watervliet, NY, Mary Ellen Malo (Tony) of Waterford, Heather Severence of Saratoga and also her daughter Jennifer; sister of Kenneth Welch of Malta, NY, Carol Ryan (Dale Grimes) of Malta, NY, Susan Genevick (Frank) of Stillwater and FL and the late Robert and Bruce Welch; cherished "GrandDi" to Aaron Lynch, Aidan Severence, Jonathan Malo, Michaela Barrett and Douglas Murray; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held on Monday at 9:00 am at Corpus Christ Church in Ushers where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Calling hours will be from 2-5 pm Sunday in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 Clifton Park, NY 12065.

Interment will be in Kateri Meadows at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna, NY.
