Obituary of William G. LeQue, Sr.
William G. “Bill” LeQue, Sr., 88, formerly of Lansingburgh, Colonie and Brunswick, peacefully entered into eternal life on Friday, October 22, 2021.
Born and raised in Cohoes, New York, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Alice Cutler LeQue and was a graduate of Cohoes High School and HVCC.
Mr. LeQue was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean War.
Bill was a member of the Cohoes American Legion Post #476 where he served as Commander for 3 years, Vice Commander for 5 years and Finance Officer for 2 years and with the Cohoes Remembers Veterans organization. He was also a member of the All-Troy Athletic Club (ATAC) in Lansingburgh, the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1232 in Cohoes and had been a communicant of St. Agnes Church in Cohoes.
Mr. LeQue retired from Polsinello Fuels in Rensselaer in 1993 where for 10 years he was a HVAC Technician. He had previously been employed in the same capacity by Main Brothers Oil Co. in Delmar, Herzog & Hopkins Oil Co. in Albany and Berkshire Fuels in Schodack
Devoted father of William G. “Bill” LeQue, Jr. of East Greenbush, John (Karen) LeQue of Ballston Spa and Ann (Jim) Bear of Ballston Spa, both of Saratoga Springs, Jacqueline (Terrence) Canavan of Averill Park and Tina (Louis) Jacobs of Troy, brother of Shirley Monohan of Troy and the late Donald and John LeQue, also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchild & great-great grandchildren along with several nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Josie Popson.

Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the care of John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, New York 12182.
